have long believed that the traditional methods of retail
distribution of diamonds and jewelry are inefficient and costly,
both for the retailer and the purchaser. Besides the substantial
overheads associated with any retail business, jewelers pay
large insurance premiums to cover the unnecessary risk that
goes with displaying high-value items at street level. The moment
a retailer places a piece of jewelry in his showcase, it begins,
unlike the proverbial rolling stone, to gather moss in the form
of ongoing carrying costs, all of which are passed directly
to the purchaser. |

After
twenty years in the diamond and jewelry business, during which time
we have sold to just about every category of retailer, we have concluded
that the most effective way of supplying fine jewelry to the final
consumer is on a custom-made basis. Components are selected from
specialist manufacturers in each category and assembled into a piece
which looks stunning, but comes at a humanitarian price.
| In
most industries, "Custom Made" implies the additional
expense of individual craftsmanship. With jewelry however, the
substantial cost of maintaining and distributing a vulnerable
inventory of precious gems far outweighs the slight additional
cost of assembling an individual piece. The great weight of
accumulated overhead is avoided, and this results in remarkable
savings.
By
its very nature, jewelry should be unique and designed for
the

This method of jewelry purchase allows the consumer the best
of both worlds -- fine quality, custom jewelry at substantial
